It has been a hard week for our community. Last Wednesday, ICE raided the apartment building two blocks from here. Three of our neighbors are now detained. One of them is a member of this church.
This morning, I want to read with you from Lamentations. Not because Lamentations explains anything — it doesn’t — but because Lamentations is what scripture gives us when we need words for the kind of week we’ve had.
